ABVM Youth Ministry : Mission Statement In a partnership with parents, the Assumption Youth Ministry Team of Decatur exists to engage its teens to live as Christ expects and to send them out as disciples to serve the needs of our community and share our faith. |
Youth Ministry is a time to have fun playing games, getting to know each other and diving into discussions about our Catholic faith. Youth Ministry helps our teens know the reasons why we believe the things we do, why being Catholic is different than any other form of Christianity and why it is the best answer to the problems facing people today. It is fun and engaging!
We need adult volunteers (18+) to join our team to fuel the faith of our teens and share our experiences to prepare the next generation for their future. It’s going to be theirs!!
El Ministerio de la Juventud es un momento para divertirse jugando, conocerse y sumergirse en discusiones sobre nuestra fe Católica. El Ministerio Juvenil ayuda a nuestros jóvenes a conocer las razones por las que creemos en las cosas que hacemos, por qué ser Católico es diferente a cualquier otra forma de Cristianismo y por qué es la mejor respuesta a los problemas que enfrentan las personas hoy en día. ¡Es divertido y atractivo!
Necesitamos voluntarios (18+) para unirnos a nuestro equipo para alimentar la fe de nuestros jóvenes y compartir nuestras experiencias para preparar a la próxima generación para su futuro. ¡¡Será de ellos !!

Posada hosted by ABVM Youth Ministry We need volunteers to participate in the Posada as Joseph, Mary, and 2 angels, as well as lead the rosary (5 decades, bilingual). We will need donations for at least 100 goodie bags. The more that participate the less we have to do alone. Bring donations by Wed, 12/14. Participants leading rosary and Joseph, Mary, 2 Angels is a volunteer opportunity |

Tri-Parish Christmas Party Volunteers are needed to help younger children with different christmas crafts. Must be teen leader trained. |

Sunday, December 4 |
Tx Pythian Visit We will leave ABVM by 10am. We will be hosting lunch with our group from 11a-1p. Returning to ABVM.

Saturday, December 3 |
Decatur Christmas Parade We need lots of candy for the volunteers to hand during the parade. Volunteers will be dressed as Joseph, Mary, Angels and 3 Kings to represent our Parish. Trailer must be in the line up from 4pm-5:30pm, parade starts at 6pm. We are assigned to be in Lot A (Embry St/Shoemaker St, drop is in from of the Admin Bldg). Volunteers please be there by 5pm. Parents can drop off at the specified drop off and parking locations and walk to our float. |

The Come and See Fall 2022 Weekend at St. Joseph Seminary College is for all young men, 16 years old + (high school and college), who are interested in discernment to the priesthood where they get to meet others in discernment and visit the campus of St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, LA. Transportation, lodging and meals provided. EVERYONE should receive the following informational documents:
